Caring for your leather watch box
Share
Real leather only gets better with age — if you treat it right. A few simple habits keep your watch box or roll looking rich for years.
Keep it dry
Leather and water are not friends. If it gets damp, pat it dry with a soft cloth and let it air-dry away from direct heat. Never use a hairdryer.
Wipe it down now and then
A soft, dry cloth removes dust and keeps the grain clean. For a deeper clean, a barely-damp cloth is enough — skip harsh cleaners and solvents.
Stay out of the sun
Long hours in direct sunlight dry leather out and fade its colour. A shaded shelf or drawer keeps the tone deep and even.
Condition occasionally
Once or twice a year, a small amount of leather conditioner keeps full-grain leather supple. A little goes a long way — buff off any excess.
Let the patina happen
Those small marks and the slow deepening of colour are not wear — they are character. Good leather earns its story.
